Jasper Fire Fully Contained in Sun Valley

The 1,165-acre Jasper Fire in Sun Valley was contained on Tuesday. Sierra Front says one home and two outbuildings were destroyed. The fire started around 3 p.m. on Saturday near Leon & Chimney Drives. Authorities believe the fire was started by target shooting. 23-year-old Alex Arias and 22-year-old Jorge Arias were arrested.MORE

Construction Accident Leads to Power Outage in Sparks

A construction dump truck with a lifted bed pulled down a powerline, causing a widespread power outage in Sparks Tuesday. Sparks Police say the lines went down near El Rancho & Elementary Drives. At one point more than 7,100 customers were without power, and that number was gradually reduced through the day.MORE

Sierra Front confirms one home and two outbuildings were burned in the Jasper Fire, that started in Sun Valley and spread into Spanish Springs.
