Jasper Fire Fully Contained in Sun Valley

The 1,165-acre Jasper Fire in Sun Valley was contained on Tuesday. Sierra Front says one home and two outbuildings were destroyed. The fire started around 3 p.m. on Saturday near Leon & Chimney Drives. Authorities believe the fire was started by target shooting. 23-year-old Alex Arias and 22-year-old Jorge Arias were arrested.MORE

Construction Accident Leads to Power Outage in Sparks

A construction dump truck with a lifted bed pulled down a powerline, causing a widespread power outage in Sparks Tuesday. Sparks Police say the lines went down near El Rancho & Elementary Drives.
