Fewer Fatalities on Nevada Roads

Fewer people died on Nevada roads in June than they did a year earlier. The Nevada Department of Public Safety reports 16 deaths which is almost half as many deaths as reported in June a year ago. Jasper Fire North of Sun Valley More Than 30 Percent Contained

Fire crews remain on scene of a brush fire that sparked at Chimney Road and Leon Drive north of Sun Valley on Saturday. Crews stopped progress on the fire that closed U.S. 395 Sunday. The fire 5 miles northwest of Doyle in Lassen County has burned about 150 acres. Fire Breaks Out Near I-80 And Stoker Overpass

A fire broke out near I-80 and the Stoker Overpass between Keystone Avenue and West McCarran Boulevard around 10:30 last night. One lane of Eastbound I-80 was closed, as was part of Stoker Avenue near Mountain View Cemetery. The cause is still unknown at this time.MORE

One Person Killed in Three Vehicle Crash on U.S. 95

One person is dead and several people have serious injuries following a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 95 about 25 miles from Hawthorne. The crash happened about 2 p.m. yesterday (sun) afternoon. Traffic was shut down in both directions, but the road has since reopened.MORE
