Bishop Gorman Coach Cleared, Back at Work

Girl Falls to Her Death While Hiking Near Emerald Bay

A 14-year-old girl died Wednesday in a fall, while hiking near Lake Tahoe’s Emerald Bay. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the girl falling about 50 feet at about 12:06 p.m. near the Vikingsholm Trail. Body Found on River Bank, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Investigating

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found on the bank of the Truckee River near the Mustang Exit. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon said someone was walking in the area today and found the body. No other details are available about the body, or the cause or manner of death.MORE

Three Placer County Correctional Officers Arrested

Three Placer County Correctional officers have been arrested. Sgt. Megan Yaws, Deputy Robert Madden and Correctional Officer Jeffrey Villanueva are facing charges in connection with the excessive use force against inmates at the jail in Auburn. Nevada’s Latest Gaming Numbers Released

Nevada gaming revenue was up almost 1.2 percent in April compared with the same month a year ago.
