(Reno, NV) – Washoe County’s wildfire outlook is getting tougher to predict, that according to Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue officials. At Tuesday’s Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, Warning Coordination Meteorologist Dawn Johnson said lower elevations have experienced more rain than snow this winter, which is unique but also a possible danger during the summer months. Chief Richard Edwards said cheatgrass could be more prevalent in June and July, which could ramp up activity when wildfire season comes.
