(Reno, NV) – The race for Nevada’s Second Congressional District is wide open following the announcement of Mark Amodei’s retirement. The district, which has been held by Republicans for a long time, could see a race dominated by Democrats. As of today, six are expected to compete for Amodei’s seat against one Republican. Amodei’s resignation poses a challenge, however, as now both sides need to scramble for election funding. According to KOLO 8 News Now, the district has its metropolitan areas of the Truckee Meadows and Carson City. The rest is rural and heavily painted red and contains reliable Republican voters.
